Privacy Policy

Effective September 19, 2026

This policy describes how Shade Fusion handles information in the Grainer iPhone app, on this website, and through email support. Grainer is initially offered in the United States.

Your photos and videos

Grainer processes captures on your device. We do not receive your camera feed, photos, videos, or audio on our servers when you capture or apply looks. Captures are saved in your Photos library. App preferences, including looks, grain, and framing, are stored locally. Grainer does not require an account.

App permissions

  • Camera: for the live viewfinder and photo and video capture.
  • Microphone: for sound recorded with videos.
  • Photos: to save captures and display, favorite, share, or delete accessible media.

You control these permissions in iOS Settings, including limited Photos access. Denying a permission can limit the related feature. The app does not request access to your contacts or precise location.

App analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand usage and improve Grainer. It can process app-instance and vendor identifiers, launches and sessions, app and operating-system versions, device information, language, and approximate region inferred from network information. Collection depends on device permissions and service configuration. We do not include your photos, videos, or audio in analytics.

Google handles this information under its applicable terms and privacy protections. Details are available in Google’s Privacy Policy and Firebase’s privacy information. Grainer currently has no separate analytics switch. Deleting the app stops future collection by that installation but does not automatically erase previously collected records.

Sharing and Apple services

Sharing or copying a capture sends the selected media to the app, service, or clipboard you choose. That destination’s own privacy practices apply. iCloud Photos and device backups may sync your media and settings according to your Apple preferences. Photos may download an iCloud item when you view or share it; we do not operate that storage.

Website and support

This website is a static landing page with no visitor accounts, comments, uploads, or contact forms. Our host may process IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, and timestamps to deliver and secure it. Visiting the website does not grant the app’s camera, microphone, or Photos permissions.

If you email support@grainer.com, we use your address and the information you send to respond and provide support.

Providers and protection

Analytics, hosting, and email providers process information to deliver their services. Providers handling personal information for us must protect it under applicable contractual obligations. Processing may occur in the United States or other countries where providers operate. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users and legal rights. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system can guarantee complete security.

Retention and your choices

Saved captures remain in Photos until you delete them. Removing Grainer removes local app settings but does not remove those captures. Manage deleted items, iCloud copies, and backups through Apple’s controls.

Support correspondence and website security records are retained only as reasonably needed for their purpose and legal obligations. Analytics records follow our Google Analytics property’s retention settings; aggregate reports may remain longer.

Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information we control, or to exercise other rights available under applicable state law. We may need to verify your request. Because analytics identifiers are not linked to a Grainer account, we may be unable to identify your records from an email address alone. You may appeal a privacy-request response using the same email address. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a protected privacy right.

Updates and contact

We will update the date on this page when our practices change and provide any further notice required by law. For questions or privacy requests, contact us at support@grainer.com.
